## Background / 開発背景

TateGaki was built in 2026 by a non-engineer using Claude and a "vibe coding" workflow. The idea came from a child's homework that needed vertical writing in Google Docs — but Google Docs doesn't support vertical writing out of the box.

TateGakiは、2026年にコード未経験者がClaudeとの対話を通じて開発した個人開発プロダクトです。子供の宿題で「Google Docsに縦書き機能がない」ことに気づいたのが開発のきっかけです。

## Known Limitations / 既知の制限

- **Blank vertical mode (白地・縦)**: Built on a textarea, so it does not support scroll-follow or page splitting when printing. For long documents or printing, use manuscript paper mode with grid lines turned OFF (it supports page splitting on print). / 白地（縦）モードはtextarea方式のため、スクロール追従と印刷時のページ分割に非対応。長文執筆・印刷には「罫線OFFの原稿用紙モード」を推奨（印刷時のページ分割に対応）。
- **Ruby (furigana)**: Available in manuscript paper modes only; not in blank canvas modes. / ルビは原稿用紙モードのみ対応、白地モードは非対応。
- **Platform**: Designed for desktop (web) Google Docs; mobile add-on support is limited. / PC版（ウェブ版）Google Docs向け。モバイルはアドオン利用に制限あり。
